Spring Student
Education Gallery
Education is paramount at the George & Leah McKenna Museum of African American Art. We seek to empower, educate and enrich students from all levels of academia through the creation of their own art exhibition. The students who participate in the Spring Education Gallery are actively involved with each step of the exhibition process. The Student Spring Gallery is designed from both a curatorial and artistic perspective, making the students directly responsible for developing a concept proposal, creating art work and implementing an exhibition design.
Through developing a concept proposal, creating the artwork and implementing an exhibition design students are: enhancing their research capabilities, becoming well-informed about a community issue, creatively articulating that issue to an audience.
